Re: CBM prg Studio
The problem in point 3 can be replicated by doing the following: Enable Pre-Build commands Create a new user-defined command and press OK to return to the Build Command dialog. Click the Edit Pre-Build button again and edit the definition for the new command then click OK. The user command was inser...

Re: Game of Life.
I was inspired to have a go at this to see if it was possible to speed things up a bit. Much of the original program's "feeling" was retained, such as the use of PRINT instead of POKE. The program turned out to be no faster, but was still an interesting exercise. The borders are kept clear...

Re: CBM prg Studio
A few issues I've encountered: 1) Editor menus made unavailable by Start Page. While a Project is present, if Start Page displayed then editor menus and toolbars (Build, Debug, etc) are removed until a Project is reloaded or Studio restarted. Currently, the only way around this is to suppress the St...

Re: CBM prg Studio
I spent a few hours with Prg Studio today and have come to the conclusion that my "multiple statements per line" request is unnecessary. I use them in my C64 development system due to necessity - PAL Assembler uses a modified BASIC environment (Tokenisation disabled, Programmer's Aid exten...

Re: Who was your favourite C64 publisher?
Strategic Studies Group (SSG) Australian developer and publisher of wargames, both their own and also developers for other companies (eg SSI's "When Superpowers Collide" series of wargames). Everything they produced was excellent, rivalled only by SSI's very best. Honorable Mentions Strat...

Re: CBM prg Studio
I've been trying out Prg Studio. It's a nice program. Requests: 2) Assembly editor: Multiple statements per line - separated by colon Nah, not that. Assembly programming is one statement per line. Always. Only. Use that left-over space for your comments. I'm aware of the arguments for and against m...

Re: CBM prg Studio
I've been trying out Prg Studio. It's a nice program. Requests: 1) Assembly editor: Code folding. It would be nice to un/fold code for the following: - At label at cursor - All labels - All Parent labels - All Child Labels - All labels except the one at cursor 2) Assembly editor: Multiple statements...

Re: What's in your fridge?
In the top freezer- mostly herbs, vegetables and home-made vegetable stews in plastic containers (thaw, heat and eat), and a rump roast of kangaroo (the only type of red meat I eat regularly). The rest of the fridge also contains healthy food along with some sauces and some chocolate biscuits (not m...

Re: What's the last game you played?
Hammerfist. It was the first time I'd played it and I found it quite interesting once I got used to the control method.
