Re: The C16 - a Ferrari with no tires ?
I don't have much question really. I guess the way they did it at the time seems bizarre because the TED has a non-multiplexed bus so it seems built for static RAM but the architecture was less expensive to build at the time using DRAM so they added external multiplexers. That was the least expensiv...

Re: Behr-Bonz 2015 VIC-20 still going strong!

Re: Warning about WarpSpeed cartridge
... Not sure if it has anything to do with HC chips that the reloaded uses as has already been discussed, making it more of a problem on that? A support issue with the reloaded board is what brought this to the light. The use of HC chips on a C64 replica board is twofold: 1. The logic threshold lev...

Re: Warning about WarpSpeed cartridge
Same here. I am not overly worried about it. It seems that it is more an issue on the Reloaded board. Hey I made a few of those WarpSpeed repos. I made a case for it with switches but the switches that fit are so small it requires a little screw driver to switch the modes. Case is still in progress...

Re: Warning about WarpSpeed cartridge
Does the CPU or the PLA chip issue Chip Select (CS) requests? The PLA is responsible for telling if the CPU or VIC-II is the master of the databus and which device receives a request for reading or writing data to/from. However, in the case of the WarpSpeed, it seems - according to Schoënfeld - thi...

Re: Are there and uses for a Georam (ram expansion) above 512kb
This whole discussion has been most interesting and informative. Speaking of C64/C128 expansions, has anyone heard of this ? https://github.com/frntc/RAD This catridge is based on a Raspberry Pi 3A+, 3B+ or Zero 2. Currently it emulates a RAM Expansion Unit up to 16mb (compatible to CBM 1700/1750/1...

Re: Are there and uses for a Georam (ram expansion) above 512kb
My thoughts were that a 512kb Georam memory expansion cartridge was to my way of thinking a more obtainable and contemporary product. CleoRAM is a GeoRAM clone with 2MB or 4MB capacity. I tested it with both GGLabs testing software and the latest update of GEOS for both the C128 and C64. Still avai...
