Re: REU for C-64 & C-128
I agree that a 16MB would be ideal but my point was to add a 512k switch or mode that allows the 64 to see it as a 1764/1750 for programs that only work with 256/512k.

Re: REU for C-64 & C-128
I don't pretend to know the technical details of more then 512k because I have only 2 REUs one is original 1764 256k and one is original 1764 that I recently added 256k to make it more or less a 1750. I didn't add the resistor that is missing on the 1764 but apparently it isn't critical. Anyway it i...

Re: A new generation of PLA for the C64 is now available.
Number 3 is great because virtually all of the sockets you buy these days will have contacts on both sides and they are up to 70% cheaper then machined. Machined are decent if you know you are only going to put an IC in it. I use a combination and use them now if it requires a bit more of a lower pr...

Re: D64 reader/writer with support for extended tracks
Hmm. Well, I don't have a 1541 ultimate. But in theory that is correct. The ultimate is supposed to be a true drive emulator so if it supports all the various d64 variances then you are right just a simple matter of using a nibbler that can do extended tracks. The thing I remember about using 40 tra...

Re: D64 reader/writer with support for extended tracks
Well this brought up an interesting read that I hadn't seen before. I thought the same thing, that a D64 was 35 tracks. However that is apparently not true and the D64 technically does support to track 40. Here is a very technical breakdown of the D64 format, in case you are curious: http://unusedin...

Re: BOUNTY - looking for a programmer
It's not a troll, I am quoting what he said years ago on #c-64 on efnet. If I tried hard enough I could produce logs of some of the garbage he used to post, but that's not worth the time. That is the definition of a troll. You brought some old crap up just to stir the pot and cause trouble. You had...

Re: C64 Repair Help
I just picked up one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KQ6PR6K I used it last night on a C64 board that I had previously removed 2 RAM chips from with a combination of tools including my Hakko solder station, radio shack de-solder iron, solder wick and solder sucker. While the first one ...

Re: REU for C-64 & C-128
@motrucker. Your rant is understandable and no apology is necessary. As much as I like this forum, it is plain silly to ban mentioning other forums and then remove all links and words from past posts. I'm not going to leave over it but it is a bad decision, IMHO. I hope someone does indeed release a...
