Glad to know you fixed it.

Its good you replaced the 7812. In reality, the VIC-II and SID have a good tolerance for the 12V and the higher the voltage, the stronger the heat dissipation so going above 12V is truly useless.

I have never had a 6510 go faulty out of the dozens of C64 I've fixed.

Good you got it going instead of scraping it for parts. :)
