Sadly still waiting for the 20 pin female to female arduino 20cm cables ...but the right angled pin headers have arrived so I thought I'd make a start this weekend.
The object is to replace those brittle unforgiving ribbons commodore used with something more flexible and serviceable.
The photos show the keyboard end of the mod ...and a 10 pin cable was used just for the photos ..
this will obviously need more connections ..so will use a different cable when it arrives.
Total cost of project per keyboard should be around 4 ukp.
I intend to do 2.

Very nice job!
I just hope somebody does something similar with the keyboard of the SX-64.

The cables have arrived so had to test to see if it fits ok ..
not tested yet with a keyboard ..but can't see why it wouldn't work..

Re: Started my plus4 keyboard mod.
So ..1 down 1 to go ..
All keys now treated with CH-CW2605 ..and the RF modulator re-fitted..
I'd like to fit some heat sinks to the roms cpu and PLA ...but doubt there would be sufficient space ...unlike breadbin units..
Difficult to show the ribbon once the unit is closed ...
so ..a peek inside ..and a full screen showing the keyboard is functional now.
