Note that this is shown on my apple IIe but the topic involves the modem and its encoding and not the system it is demonstrated on. does anyone have a manual for this modem??
Ive got a prentice Star acoustic coupler modem that I am trying to get connected to my dial up mgetty terminal.
I have 2 combinations set up using Proterm 2.0 running VT100 emulation
the first setup works perfect
1> micromodem IIe on slot 2 N81 None 300 baud
Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq3owPgqjEU
the second setup is
2> superserial ----> toggled for modem and non smart modem in slot 1 N81 None 300 baud / full duplex / originate
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drpvYSlczyA
scenario 1 works perfect
scenario 2 connects fine at 300 baud shows a different encoding on the screen than one would expect. its not garbage and is
predictable. It seems I can log in and the mgetty host can red what I type. The characters echoed back are not the same as those I type.
