I'm in the process of making a bunch of disks for GEOS and testing them out. I picked up a Micromys mouse adapter which makes GEOS so much easier to use - not using the 1351 mouse is better :)

Also, I archived my Wheels installation here https://www.dropbox.com/s/i7axxncuuq1yv ... 8.zip?dl=0 ... it's stupidly large, and you need to have a CMD HD to use the files.. but you can BCOPY it back to a CMD HD partition.

I also use a Micromys adapter with my C-128, with a modern laser mouse. Not having a ball is great. This setup is much faster than the old 1351. I also use the Micromys http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/Micromys with my Amiga A2000.
To the point, this setup makes using GEOS a dream.

Virginia Slim wrote:@bjonte; congrats on picking up a ramlink! If I can answer your question about Wheels on a ramlink:
The three-drives of Geos become a four-drive system. Plus, it gives full use of CMD equipment, partitioning, & up to 16megs memory utilization. Also better use of native-mode subdirectories on 1581, more features which make the system easier to operate. I have used it since '98 on my ramlink. be happy to try to answer any questions you have. I still have the manual, just in case.
Problem is, I don't seem to be able to find any downloads for Wheels (?!?).
I had the address for downloading wheels, but when my hard drive died, I lost everything! I have not been able to find it again, but I have found a bunch of patches that could be a big help in using GEOS 2.x anyway:

As soon as I can find the site for Wheels, I will post it here.

Adding to an old post.

I've got a Wheels setup on my CMD HD, but I've yet to find an easy way to back it up.

I've used BCOPY+, but it writes to a format that's 810K on a 1581 disk - not 800K. So creating a D81 doesn't work.

If you have an FD-2000 or 4000, and a PC with a built in FDC, you can create the disks to use with BCOPY+ here:

@icbrkr
The CMD HD uses a SCSI hard drive.

Would it not be possible to use DD to generate an image of the content of your SCSI drive onto a PC equipped with a SCSI controller ?

Also, let's not forget the GEOspecific CD which includes the GEOmetrix set of diskettes.

My copy of this CD has vanished, and this link is dead. Is it available any where else?
