25000 Entries! Gamebase64 v14 released!
Re: 25000 Entries! Gamebase64 v14 released!
No that would be an incredible undertaking for anyone attempting to make that. Probably many many years of work.
Re: 25000 Entries! Gamebase64 v14 released!
why not just use the originals from the "extras" folder if you dont like cracks?
Re: 25000 Entries! Gamebase64 v14 released!
Can't load originals fast either from sd2iec or ide64

Most originals won't load at all from these devices.Gonzo wrote:Can't load originals fast either from sd2iec or ide64
What's needed here is a 1541 Ultimate 1 or 2 or other low level 1541 drive emulator.

I want to load games fast and get to play them fast which means
a) no copy protection
b) no intros
Thus my question about cracks without intros.

IMHO, most copy protected games load lightning fast.
In fact, in many cases the load accelerator integrated in the game IS the copy protection.
You could always use tools like Super Snapshot to capture games once past the intros if they don't need to load other material once started. That would turn them into single filers. I did that with the old game In the Chips and now it loads lightning fast and has no intro at all.
I did remove the intro from Uridium in this manner too.
IMHO, the 1541 Ultimate 1/2 remains the best tool for that too because a Super Snapshot V5.22 is included and you can DMA load single filers far faster than SD2IEC or Ide64 can.
