Love the graphic style and the unusual scoring method, wears its Starforce inspiration on its sleeve.

Based on what has not been mentioned (I Think) are Gyruss, Gridrunner, Enforcer and a bit more recent Rocket Smash :-)

Lightforce if you can get into it, Is a pretty good shooter too, The highscore routine makes me want not to do it for RCS. :)

Agree. It's a blast. I also like Terra Cresta and Slap Fight. Good games.

Lightforce is good but it's the music which makes it stand out.

Hunter's Moon is an excellent shooter but often seems to go under the radar, so to speak.

I'm very fond of 8-way scrolling shooters, it'd be awesome if the C64 got a decent conversion of Bosconian. Others worth a play include Survivor, a very early Synapse release and Kobo64, released in 2013 for the RGCD cart competition.

I'm not a fan of shmups, but I do get replay value from the following fun games:
Iridis Alpha (Llamasoft)
Galaxy (Kingsoft)
Eagle Empire (Alligata)

Awesome. I need to scan this thread for games to try out. Recently played Parallax and wrote a review on it.

I could not figure out how to progress through levels though. Any thoughts?
