War Games Emulation

Post by 1st Shalako »

At one time, there was a program that would run on the 64 when you clicked on an innocuous icon that would emulate a NORAD Command Center screen showing a countdown to launch missiles starting a global nuclear war similar to the movie War Games. Does anybody know about that program and if it has been converted to PC. I'm looking for it to put on a friend's computer as a Halloween or April Fools joke. Hopefully it will be able to be launched with a hot key.

Maybe just put the game for War Games up on the screen for them.

I think that was something that ran from q-link, made it look like your commodore dialed into a war command center and was gonna launch nukes

I know this is outside of your topic, but at the time I really enjoyed playing the Wargames knockoff "War Room" for the Colecovision:
