WTB/WTT: C64 & VIC-20 PAL mainboards
Hello,
I was hospitalized for a good part of 2014 and my PAL VIC-20 mainboard was trashed when my family put my stuff in storage.
I thought I might also use the opportunity to buy a PAL C64.
I have plenty of spare cases - I only need the mainboard for either machines.
I want tested and working boards only please.

Eslapion. What kind of PAL C64 are you looking for?
Longboard/Shortboard etc.?

I didn't know there was such a thing as a shortboard.yaztromo wrote:Eslapion. What kind of PAL C64 are you looking for?

I prefer older versions because it will mostly be used to test PLAs but I will accept any board which works with a PLA type 906114-01.
This includes boards 326298, 250407, KU-14194, 250425 and 250466.

'Short board' is the smaller board such as assy 250469. I'm surprised you've never seen this term used before.
Re: WTB/WTT: C64 & VIC-20 PAL mainboards
@Yaztromo
Not familiar with the expression "short board". Anyways, the 250469 doesn't use the type of PLAs I want to test so its no use to me.
Here in Montreal, we called the '425 "Alex", the '466 "uncle" (a reference to The Man from UNCLE), the '407 was called "Oldie" and the 326298 was called "5 pin". The '469 was just called the 64c.
However, I suspect these were only local expressions.

Short board refers to the last generation of C64c with the monster PLA chip and a physically smaller board that was shorter then the regular 64 board, hence the nickname short board. EDIT: Just like YAZ said. lol Obviously the PLA replacement you guys designed would be of no use to the short board.

Anyways, I am still looking for a C64 PAL breadbin mainboard. I will even accept it WITHOUT the CIAs, CPU and SID.
Only one absolute requirement: it must NOT be faulty.

Have you tried Amibay? I see C64s, mostly PAL for sale there quite a bit.

Yeah, I do keep an eye out on that forum for possible sellers.Zippy Zapp wrote:Have you tried Amibay? I see C64s, mostly PAL for sale there quite a bit.
I didn't start a "wanted" thread as I suspect I will be paying more if I am openly seeking for a MoBo on this forum.
