Belgians tweet cat pics in following orders not to reveal police action

Belgians have come up with the most amusing method to saturate the net to thwart terrorist's efforts to gather information about police activities.

See, I can see both sides of this.
Yes it was funny people posted cat pictures.

But... The #lockdown hashtag started because people were concerned what the police were doing. Social media can be helpful but at the same time can hinder an operation. I'm sure many people outside the US would not have been aware of Ferguson without it.

It was my understanding that by saturating social medias with cat pics, the belgians were actually helping authorities by hindering the efforts of terrorists in keeping track of police activity.

At least, that's what I understood of the article.
