Amigakit has null modem cables on for a good price.
I know what you mean, I've probably spent more than I should have myself. They make it so easy too. I received the ACA500 from the UK in a couple of days due to special shipping with FedEx that they had for it. I wanted to pick up one of their dust covers, maybe I'll order a null modem cable as well.
The problem is I have only recently re-entered the retro computer market. First the 64 and then Amiga. Trying to feed two machines is a little pricey, for what I tell my wife is a new hobby:) First the 64C with 1541, then a sd2iec, then another set of 64c with 1541-ii, C64 games from Ebay, and locally, the 500, then a 1084 monitor. Time for me to take a break...lol. My first concern is my C64. A null modem, is about all I can afford. Fortunately I have an old laptop with a serial port. I will install Windows XP on it. (I had been playing with linux on it).
Wants for future: ACA 500, 500 disk emulator, Zoomfloppy and cable and eventually a 1200.

I know what you mean Syrax, I have spent way too much money myself on retro computers and accessories.I'm also into the Atari 800, Apple IIc and TRS-80. I have more retro computers than space at the moment. I may have to cull the herd at some point

If you mean just a stock Amiga 500 power supply, then yes, that's how I use it. Haven't experienced any problems. One thing I would like to stress about the ACA500 though, it says it works on the Rev 5 board, but my experience is that it does not. I had to get a Rev 6A board in order to use it.
Good to know and thanks for the info... I have to remove the keyboard soon anyways to replace it as my SHIFT keys died on it, so I can check it then... I'm planning on having my wife get it for me for Christmas so I should have plenty of time to check out the board version...
