The Retro Computer Scene Web search

Post by zap » Sun Nov 30, 2014 1:18 am

This project is being work on for some time i'm intergrating it into the site now and will be clearing the index and starting a fresh.

The idea is we only index 8bit site so all results returned will be from thoses sites this make for a targeted search engine for 8bit users.

Once intergrated and the new updates pushed to our site more functionallty will be added based on feedback also sites indexed will be based on feedback.

Fingers cross we will have something to show within a week but as always feedback now can push us into the right direction based on what users needs.

Shane.

Shane,

As always, you once again prove why you're one of the hardest workers out there! Keep up the good work (and please let me know how I can update my email address on the site!) :)

http://cbm8bit.com/profile goto your profile and chnage the email address there.

I'm adding the ability to add several email addresses to your account and different avatars enabling you to attach them to certain projects. For instance Highscores project could go to one email address yet messages from the community center could go to another and so on. One Avatar for your public face and yet another for the Highscores or all the same it's optional. The profile page will be updated to add the extra email address and switchs to enable them with certain projects. Much more is going on but will discribe the profile updates when their finished. email accounts can be setup on our mail server for projects this will be announced as well.

Cheers
Shane.

I'm so fricken excited get excited with me and check this out... :)

First goto this url http://retrocomputerscene.com/websearch ... rch?query=

Then in the search type site:

You should see the two sites i added so far to the new search filter by site feature.

click on awesome.commodore.me

Then leave a space and type pacman 'this is the search keyword' click search.

It's the first update in many for the targeted web search project and this update ticked many boxes.
How fricken awesome is that and just a taste of what's to come with this project.

8-)
