CIA 6526A or 8521

Post by radron5809 »

Does anyone make a replacement chip for the 6526a or 8521. Want to get a C64 Reloaded MK2 board, but only have CIA 6526 chips, and it says to use 6526a or 8521 chips (guess these are 2Mhz and the 6526 is 1Mhz). I find one here and there on ebay, but any websites that sell these chips and actually have stock?

Okay, emailed the folks at Individual Computers and was told I could use the 6526 or the 6526A.

The 8521 is just a HMOS version of the 6526 which dissipates less heat. They are mostly identical from a software and electronics point of view.
