Strangely enough, I don't think I had a single top down racer back in the day. Closest thing I had to one was Spy Hunter... which isn't very close, really.

First racing game I had was Pitstop II, which I thought was amazing at the time. Spent quite a lot of time with Speed King too.

I had it on disk, so the multiload wasn't quite so bad, but I must say that I got so hyped up for this game that I was a little disappointed. The car just seemed so big and awkward.

Nothing like the disappointment that was WEC Le Mans though -- another game I had high hopes for.

Yeah, I'd be inclined to go for cheaper ram and push the budget on the graphics card to a HD 7750, which is a fairly decent entry level card.
