Re: Elite Dangerous First Impressions
With the next update called Horizons coming up this year, you'll get to land on planets and roam around in your SRV. I'm really looking forward to that. There is always the Xbox One version too if you don't think you have PC hardware good enough for the game. I purchased both versions. The bad part ...

Re: Amiga 500 ACA500
Oh if you have a bit of Linux knowledge you can make a backup image of your CF card using the dd program. (You can also get it for windows I think) dd if=/dev/sdc(or whatever letter your card is) of=/home/<username>/amiga-backup.dd bs=1M Will give you an exact backup image should anything go wrong ...

Re: Amiga 500 ACA500
Yeah, FFS for me as well. It's been slow for me to figure this stuff out. Certain information for the Amiga isn't as plentiful as on other platforms like the C64 or Atari 800.

Re: Amiga 500 ACA500
I forgot to mention I made 2 partitions (dh0/dh1), each about 1.9 GB from a 4 GB Kingston CF card (one with the flower on it). Didn't have any issues with that size in the ACA500.

Re: Amiga 500 ACA500
I finally figured out how to partition a CF card (I used WinUAE and wb2.0.5 install disk) and install Workbench 1.3 on it. Now my ACA500 boots quickly into wb1.3 without the need for a floppy! This was a big step for me, as I really don't like wb3.1 but I'm still stuck using 3.1 to burn real ADFs fo...

Re: Gotek Floppy Emulator
Hi e5frog, yeah, I would probably do it externally as well, not a fan of modifying the original cases.

Re: Elite Dangerous First Impressions
Yes, a little pricey I suppose, but I use it for Microsoft Flight Simulator X as well, so was well worth it for me. I have a hat with a little target attached to the brim and it works great for tracking your head movements.

Re: Elite Dangerous First Impressions
I purchased TrackIR and an X52 Pro (HOTAS) for it. Sure has come a long way since 1984 I can't wait for planetary landings and the ability to walk around your ship/space stations.
They did a really good job with the game.

Well that's good news. Are you using it with a 500? Does it fit inside the case?iced_nine wrote:Update: Been using a Gotek - absolutely love it...

Re: Amiga 500 ACA500
Have never tried WHDload myself. It would be interesting to know if getting an ACA12xx (with the 128 MB) would resolve the issue and allow better use of WHDload. They are a bit pricey though. If you live in the US we are talking about $240.
