... in that video you can see the Allwinner A20 when the board is turned over, that's an ARM SOC. Running a custom version of VICE, I suppose. Now we know what's in there and it's pretty good. Yeah, it's been fairly common knowledge that VICE was being used and that it's version 2.4 of X64, so a li...

Umm... s'not FPGA?
Whatever it is, it includes 3 dead weights...
Well, that's not really surprising when you consider how light it'd be with just the likkle board... =-) And in that video you can see the Allwinner A20 when the board is turned over, that's an ARM SOC.

The emulation of the Mini is very good, capable of running most things I've thrown at it - and the new full-sized THEC64 is using the same FPGA tech.

Re: Compatability of THEC64 with the old memory map.

I have been hearing of the release of a new Commodore 64 (if I should call it that). Having HDMI out, SD card capability, amongst other things. I wonder, as an assembly programmer, what differences one might expect as far as memory mapping, I/O, plus a number of other questions that would make a de...

Re: The C16 - a Ferrari with no tires ?

No wonder this machine met with miserable sales. Most of the problem with the C16 was that, despite Commodore insisting this wasn't the case, it had to compete with the C64; it was around half the price if memory serves but offering a quarter of the RAM, no hardware sprites or SID sound. Personally...

Not sure what to say... it'll be a shame to see Melon64 go but I can understand your reasoning.

Re: Please support the Mechboard64 C64 keyboard project.

Interesting point you make, TMR. If you are a coder why would you bother using a cr#$y old keyboard when you can use a modern PC/Mac with an emulator and a half decent mechanical keyboard? Why even use the old C64? Just use an emulator for everything? The actual coding is done on a Windows 7 deskto...

Re: Please support the Mechboard64 C64 keyboard project.

Some may say that it is just a keyboard and not worth $171 euros including shipping, but I would argue that these people are plain wrong. I'm not sure it's a matter of worth, but more about how many people really use the keyboard on their C64 these days for who an improved keyboard would be a good ...
