Re: GEOS for the C-64 & C-128
Adding to an old post. I've got a Wheels setup on my CMD HD, but I've yet to find an easy way to back it up. I've used BCOPY+, but it writes to a format that's 810K on a 1581 disk - not 800K. So creating a D81 doesn't work. If you have an FD-2000 or 4000, and a PC with a built in FDC, you can create...

Re: NTSC C16 software
No problem!
I would share the collection, but it's all on a big Commodore hard drive. To move it off of there would take me hours, if not days or more I don't have them in any other spot except for 1541s. The board supports 38,400 which means most games are downloaded in seconds.

Re: GEOS for the C-64 & C-128
I'm in the process of making a bunch of disks for GEOS and testing them out. I picked up a Micromys mouse adapter which makes GEOS so much easier to use - not using the 1351 mouse is better :) Also, I archived my Wheels installation here https://www.dropbox.com/s/i7axxncuuq1yvta/wheels128.zip?dl=0 ....

Re: NTSC C16 software
It can be both.. I'm not an expert coder, but most of the time it's just setting a bit on the TED to allow it to use NTSC mode instead of PAL. Games that have more scan lines (because they are PAL) is a lot harder. The board is a graphics board.. or you can hit it via the webpage to check it out (pa...

Re: REU for C-64 & C-128
Back in the day you could buy a BBU - a battery back up unit for your 1750/clone that used D sized batteries (...) and a power supply to battery back up your RAM. I'd be pretty happy with that really... reloading things into RAM isn't a whole lot of fun.

Re: NTSC C16 software
Many months later...
Just an FYI, some time ago I started keeping a directory of NTSC compatible Plus/4 and 16 titles on the BBS. On top of that, I've converted some titles from PAL to NTSC.

Re: I'm having a saving issue (video)
With scratch and replace, if you tell it which one of the 'dual' drives you're writing to, the issue is prevented: save "@0:filename",8,1 It's a carry over bug from when PETs were delivered with 2 drives with the same device # but were distinguishable with either the prefix 0 or 1. By spec...

Re: REU for C-64 & C-128
I'd like one, but the problem that's been ran into many times is the custom DMA chip that controls the Commodore REUs. It's pretty much unavailable. I already have a 1750, but what I'd really like more is an internally mounted 1750 (yeah, pipedream), or something in a smaller package. The 1750 is hu...

Re: Pal C64 in North America.
Every Vizio TV I've bought does PAL. I usually pick up the cheap, small ones and use them as monitor replacements for my PAL stuff (I have a PAL C16 and Plus/4 hooked to mine with no problems).
