It's my guess as well, it's just a guess though.
Would be nice to see if anyone has a photo of a disassembly... perhaps it's zip tied somewhere - to the CRT mounts for example, I feel that it's good if it stays in the same position.
Sucks having images unorganised.

Mechanical latch for lid, 1084S-P2?
Have a broken latch for the lid, it's easy to replace if I can find the right kind - there are loads of them and not many measurements. Found a promising version - in Brazil... question there is if the pin on the lid is the right shape and length. Does anyone have one of these that they know fits? H...

1084S-P2 degauss loop position and fastening?
Disassembled my childhood monitor a couple of years ago after swapping loads of parts and not finding the problem. Later turned out the yoke had oxidized and I tried but couldn't fix it. Then borrowed the degauss ring to roll up with a lightbulb in series to degauss another crt... Even later I had s...

Re: A new generation of PLA for the C64 is now available.
I don't mind if people buy all the other PLA replacements, then they can buy ours if (when) they get problems. That said you can of course use a non fully functional PLA for years and not have any problems - until you try that special cart or fun new hardware and it starts to crash now and then. ;-)...

In the next reply Jani himself (maker of J-PLA) confirmed that he has used counterfeit chips.

Re: A new generation of PLA for the C64 is now available.
It's because we don't want to throw pin pieces away or piece together pin strip parts to fill all needed positions. The 40 pin strips are divided into 14+13+4+9 and 14+13+13 so that two 40pin strips will cover three U17 PLAnktons. The circled pin is originally "Chip Enable" and is not used...

Re: A new generation of PLA for the C64 will soon be available.
I finally got the parts I ordered, unfortunately I have a bad cold, coughing, sneezing and SMD soldering is not a good combination (so much crawling on the floor looking for components) so I expect not to start shipping until next week.
Thanks for your patience.

Re: WTB: Jewel cases (Cassette and Disk)
I saw someone selling lots of 100 unlabeled computer tapes in shells on eBay right now, don't think I have seen any disk jewel cases lately.
