Re: Compatability of THEC64 with the old memory map.

Thanks. I'm a 60-something BTW and have got my old 64 finally able to display to a LCD screen. I think I will just stick with that until more positive…login to view the rest of this post

Compatability of THEC64 with the old memory map.

I have been hearing of the release of a new Commodore 64 (if I should call it that). Having HDMI out, SD card capability, amongst other things. I wond…login to view the rest of this post

Re: A newer composite converter than N4

Badaboom! Problem solved. I checked the resistance on the power in on several known devices. If reversed, it shows infinite resistance. If correct, it shows resistance that is slowly increasing due to filter caps charging. I took a shot and went with center positive. I now have color C64 on a 20&quo...

Re: A newer composite converter than N4

I just got an N4 on EBay. It just arrived today but did not include the power supply. I figured it would be easy enough as I have a box full of wall warts. However, I can not find anywhere on the unit, in the instructions or anywhere on-line what the polarity is. It's 12v at 1.2A but does not indica...

Re: A newer composite converter than N4

After several attempts at converters, I finally found one that works. It's still in monochrome but I get a signal onto a 19" LCD screen. There seem to be a lot of converters on Amazon. This one takes Composite, S-Video and D-VGA and has a D-VGA output. There's a number of buttons for Menu, Mode...

Re: Commodore - from one storage to another!

25 years ago, I used to get entire systems for about $20, just to get the monitors. Even though I'm a Commodore user since '83, I used the monitors fo…login to view the rest of this post

That Suncom joystick is very handy with the SD2IEC drive emulator. The filebrowser requires a joystick for easy use and the Suncom, I just attached to…login to view the rest of this post

A newer composite converter than N4

I've been reading forum postings regarding getting C64 composite output to work on the newer LCD monitors. The only screen I can get to work is a 7" screen from a back-up camera from my car. and it only displays in monochrome. Postings from back around 2016 talk about the Viewsonic N4. Are ther...
