Re: Bard's Tale III on D81
Yes, I wrote that. The original version (V1, if you like) supported a native CMD partition. This one (V2) is on a 1581. Some people on leemon64 had asked for a 1581 conversion. V1 didn't support GEORAM. V2 does. V1 didn't do anything about the codewheel protection. V2 gets around it. V1 left the 154...

Bard's Tale III on D81
This bard3.d81.zip is a version of Bard's Tale III on a d81 image. It supports RAMLink or FD-2000 or CMD-HD or (presumably) a 1581 drive. I don't have a 1581 drive, but it boots up in WinVICE, so I'm supposing it works with a real 1581 drive. The program will make use of a GEORAM cartridge or SuperR...

PROMAL 3.1
Continuing with my experiment to port PROMAL to the SuperCPU is this version which I have tentatively called PROMAL 3.1. This is different than 3.0 in that, while 3.0 supported 65C02 opcodes (to accomodate the TurboMaster), this version is not backwards compatible with the 65C02, but instead support...

Re: SwinSID... what about it?
I tried SwinSID maybe a year ago and sent it back. It sounded decent with some SID music and games, but not so good with others. The pins of the IC that I got were FAT--so fat that I felt like I was ruining the socket trying to push it in. My impression of the SwinSID is that it's a good idea, but n...

Re: What's your favourite piece of Commodore hardware?
I forgot to mention RAMLink's parallel port for connecting a hard-drive and RAMLink's RTC to search for files by date.
The RAMLink does a great job of emulating 1541, 1571, 1581.Zippy Zapp wrote:Back in the day it was just 1541, 1571, 1581, 1764 which were all used with our BBS. I still have all of them.

Re: What's your favourite piece of Commodore hardware?
If I could have only one extra piece of hardware for the Commodore 64/128, it would have to be the RAMLink. Since owning a RAMDrive in the early 90s (and later a RAMLink) I have always had one plugged in. It's my day-to-day workhorse and I use it every time I turn my 64/128 on. I'm not in to games m...

As far as I can tell, the shifted-space that is talked about in the letters section of the following issue is probably referring to line 1, not line 1…login to view the rest of this post

Hold down the shift key and press the space bar. Odd characters like this were/are used all the time in Commodore programs. In the normal character se…login to view the rest of this post
