Re: Building a NeoRam Ram expansion memory cartridge for the C64 computer
Thanks guys. @banman, did you order with beveling? Just curious if the NeoRAM has the required space at the edge.

Re: Building a NeoRam Ram expansion memory cartridge for the C64 computer
I see you get a few choices for board thickness. Was there a standard back then? I see some of my carts are not as thick as others. Epyx Fast load seems to be less than modern boards. What thickness do you typically use?

Re: Building a NeoRam Ram expansion memory cartridge for the C64 computer
Would you happen to know what type of HM628512 SOIC RAM chips you have on your PCB? Thanks. They are HM628512CLFP-7 It seems you had much better success at the reliability of your RAM chips than I had. I am getting more PCB boards delivered and I will order Ram chips from the links you used. I want...

Re: WTB: Epyx Vorpal Utility Kit USA (disk only or complete)
Thanks for the tip. I had a copy too that I bought back then but I lost mine as well. I can't find it for the life of me. I have only found the backup I made of it with a SuperCard. I think it worked fine minus the reverse side for alignment. I do have an oscilloscope sitting unused in the box, perh...

Re: Building a NeoRam Ram expansion memory cartridge for the C64 computer
I used lots of flux. I use it in gel form and it comes in a large syringe. It's near impossible with out it. @eslapion, Do you test your PCBs before you solder the components on? How would I test something like the NeoRam or Super Snapshot PCB? I usually just assume they did that when they made it b...

Re: Building a NeoRam Ram expansion memory cartridge for the C64 computer
Just to confirm, these are the RAM chips from the seller suggested on https://www.hackup.net/2019/04/the-neoram-remix/ K6X4008C1F or HM628512 https://www.ebay.de/itm/5pcs-HM628512LFP-7-8-bit-High-Speed-CMOS-Static-RAM-SOP-32/253164178362?mkcid=1&mkrid=707-53477-19255-0&siteid=77&customi...

Re: Building a NeoRam Ram expansion memory cartridge for the C64 computer
Ok cool thanks for the tip I will check out JLPCB because unlike everybody else on the planet I am not a huge PCBWay fan. I have used OSHPark for quite a few years and I haven't really had a problem, but yeah they are expensive. It cost me $35 for 3 boards. But some small stuff is only a few dollars...

Re: Building a NeoRam Ram expansion memory cartridge for the C64 computer
Ok I finally fixed it. To answer the question above my chips are Hitachi. Some were made in Japan and some in China. They seem legit. After I took all the RAM chips off the board I cleaned it up, tinned the pads and soldered them back on. This time it was cleaner although one of the ICs is crooked b...
