Re: A different C-64 video tweak
What I'm getting at is that once you're replacing all the 64 parts with modern electronics ... what's the point? Just get a PC. IMO there's no point anymore in this hobby if all the chips in your 64 now run 128 bit Linux on 18 core FPGAs. Working on one circuit is hardly "replacing all the 64 ...

Re: Video switcher
The only switch boxes I found on Amazon were four or eight unit boxes that had RCA only in/out for $10.99 (USD) or $20.99 plus shipping https://www.amazon.com/Panlong-Switcher-Composite-Selector-Consoles/dp/B00KXVBB3Q/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=video+switcher&qid=1574451454&sr=8-14 https://www.ama...

There are loads from the UK on ebay, but oddly enough not much available in North America.

Re: A newer composite converter than N4
"Because it works that much better. " OK, I'll accept that, but I need to see it. I am pretty happy with my Viewsonic and the Inline unit. And for the budget-minded I think the many Chinese options are fine. BTW the main IC in the Chinese scalers is 1$ US in quantity. So 140$ for a simple...

Re: A newer composite converter than N4
Yet you bought an industrial scaler. Why are you pushing so hard for something that's 5 to 10 times the cost of simple Chinese units? Because it works that much better. I have tried several of the more popular units, and found the RetroTink to have a much better display. Why settle for a mediocre d...

Re: A newer composite converter than N4
Why not use new stuff, rather than used, older technology? ebay does list the Extron 1502, new, old stock but they're $80.00 shipped; https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Extron-IN1502-2-Input-Composite-Video-S-video-Signals-Video-Scaler-NTSC-PAL/223673981566?epid=660881806&hash=item3414021a7e:g:N1kAAOS...

Re: A newer composite converter than N4
Ebay has a few more listed for around $40.00 USD. However, I think the RetroTink is going to steal the show. It's $100.00 USD brand new.
Nice little bit of work.......
