Re: PAL red/green color moire, not in NTSC

Hi rmzalbar, Yes, I agree. It seems do the job. Do you think it might be silicon based? I think I got mine from AliExpress. I think I got heatsinks separately. At the time of purchasing these I really didn't understand what I was doing. Probably still don't..ha! Glad I might have done something ok f...

Re: PAL red/green color moire, not in NTSC

Hi rmzalbar, That's a great idea the the heat sinks ! That's lateral thinking... It would certainly free up head room. I like you suggestion of the heat pipes. I use this stuff for sticking the heat sinks to the top of chips.. It smells and looks a bit like liquid paper. It's pretty cheap. I would s...

Re: Wanted: C64 Shift-Lock mechanism, barrel style

EDIT: However, what I observed is that all the keyboard PCBs have the same square hole that the locking mechanism pressure fits into.. This is incorrect..... Apologies for this typo... It should be said that infact the shape of the hole in the different types of keyboard PCBs changes. What re...

Re: Wanted: C64 Shift-Lock mechanism, barrel style

Hi Ryan_, Check out this person called Pippowicz on thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2792487 He has got a fantastic 3d printed design for using new components on the C128's shift lock. It so happens that they work quite well on the VIC 20 style PCB as well as the C64 mitsumi (I think th...

Re: PAL red/green color moire, not in NTSC

Hi rmzalbar, I think I heard something similar about that elsewhere. I found this interesting article on gauge blocks. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauge_block It seems they are able to adhere to eachother just thru their own close contact.... From what little research I've done there aren't too ...

Re: PAL red/green color moire, not in NTSC

Not exactly. The C64-G is a C64-C mainboard in a white breadbin case, with a white C64C keyboard and a green LED. The label is vinyl and has a light gray theme. I like these as I prefer the breadbin case, and this way I can get a C64C, with its 8580 sound and such, in its original breadbin case wit...

Re: PAL red/green color moire, not in NTSC

Hi rmzalbar, Your heart must have sunk on receiving the delivery. It is a good thing they packed it well. Australia Post can do some diabolical things to parcels as well... The C64G, is that the breadbin style one sold by ALDI supermarkets in Germany at one time? Is your board green or yellow...

Re: PAL red/green color moire, not in NTSC

I will try out my original kamikaze brick to see if it makes any difference. LOL.. I don't think I've ever heard that before..... I love it! If you have the breadbin C64 rmzalbar variety you may be able to squeeze it in.. I have had some fairly tall setups inside a breadbin. In my ...407 setu...
