Ray Carlsen's "new" website

Post by RobertB »

Veteran Commodore repairman Ray Carlsen now has his website located at a different address. It is at

https://www.portcommodore.com/rcarlsen

From there you can go to his repair articles, his Commodore and Amiga power supplies, adapters, cables, and computer savers. A few pages need touching up, so there will some changes in the future.

Ray just built four of these custom Commodore a/v cables for me. The cable is special, because it has a composite out, s-video out, RCA audio out plug, and 1/8" female audio out with dual mono output (for those off-the-shelf computer speakers found in stores).

No more trying to find adapters,

Thank you for posting this!

I got in touch with Ray and he just built me a custom PSU to power my A500/A1200, C64/C128, Excelerator+Plus (with a connector for a 1541-II or 1581 if I get one), as well as a 12V DC @ 2.5A 2.1mm center-positive barrel plug for my MEGA65 when it arrives in (hopefully) a REMOVED and a 2.5A USB for a Pi1541. All in 6 days from when I sent my first email, 4 of which were waiting on USPS!

Thanks for posting all those pictures! I have a similar custom one from Ray. I never thought about getting a heavy-duty power supply for the Mega65. And that USB port! I'm sure that caused Ray an interesting problem to solve in cutting a rectangular hole in the metal p.s. case. :)

This all just kind of grew out of needing a new PSU for the Oceanic drive and realizing what Ray could do. As long as I was asking for an Amiga/64/128/Drive PSU, why not add the Mega65 so I don't have to deal with the universal wall wart, and at least ask about the USB power?

FWIW, the only comment Ray had about the USB was to ask if I wanted the port in the front or in the back with the other cables so I'm sure this wasn't the first time someone's wanted one. :)
