@retango
I am not sure the cart will ever be released.

For one thing there is a certain amount of competition - the EF3 is a more powerful cart and it is not so expensive.

For another, there is a lot of misunderstanding concerning what the Behr-Bonz is about. I've had people ask me how do they upload games into the Behr-Bonz - you just don't. I've had others argue that it was impossible the behr-bonz wouldn't accept games of more than 16k.

Though luck... the Behr-Bonz is based on the M27C160 EPROM and it is essentially used as 128 cells of 16k, the first of which contains the menu.

It is an inexpensive solution based on more or less antiquated technology but it is faced with people who have high expectations and know little about what's involved. Add to that competition that's not so much more expensive and considerably more powerful.

eslapion, thanks! sad to hear.. I love the one for the vic 20, and it would be nice to have it also for the c64.. I have an EF3 and love it, but sometimes simplicity is hard to beat! just plug and play, and never t worry about programming it.. please let me know if you ever release it, thanks...

First, thanks for having purchased a Behr-Bonz for the VIC.

Second, thanks for the vote of confidence. If I see the demand is strong enough I might decide to get ithe BB64 in production.

The project is on standby but not canceled.

As I said last december, it is my opinion that making a Behr-Bonz for the C64 isn't worth it because there are far more powerful solutions that already exist and because people have unrealistic expectations.

I also discovered that when you install the latest firmware, the 1541 Ultimate I/I+/II/II+ can effectively emulate almost all the cartridge that will run ok on the EF3. Lord Crass even created different CRT files for the cartridge version of Zaxxon and Super Zaxxon so they run fine on the EF3 and I just discovered they also work on the 1541 Ultimate series.

A Behr-Bonz for the C64 could only run carts of 16k or less.

There seems to be a continuous demand for the Behr-Bonz on the VIC-20 so this product is now out of production but it will come back next fall.
