Ok thanks. I've ordered Machined pins socket for the PKAnkton ...any problens with it? ...but for the future i'll use mentioned 3rd kind double leaf sockets. Thanks for info ☺

Number 3 is great because virtually all of the sockets you buy these days will have contacts on both sides and they are up to 70% cheaper then machined. Machined are decent if you know you are only going to put an IC in it. I use a combination and use them now if it requires a bit more of a lower profile and I need the added strength as they are a lot more solid. Machined are great for making 24 pin socket adapters to 28 pin without a PCB. For most other things if I am not going to be removing the IC a lot then I use the cheaper sockets.

Ups, not PKAnkton ...PLAnkton ...damn smartphone correction.

This is the socket which i've ordered for the PLAnkton and i think it fits perfectly? PLAnkton pins are 0.018" (0.46mm) as stated in the first post and my ordered socket supports 0.40 - 0.56 mm in diameter. Does the PLAnkton have round pins ?

The pins equipping normal versions of PLAnkton will fit correctly in most machines pins sockets. Yes, they are round and 0.018" (0.046mm) diameter.

The thick pins version of PLAnkton is what you want if you have a worn out single or double leaf socket and don't want to go through the trouble of replacing it. They too are round but they have a thicker layer of gold plating and 0.024"(0.061mm) diameter. These should not be used with machined pins sockets.
