The C-128 can be easily upgraded to have 64Kb of video RAM, like the C-128D(CR) models. This can be done by replacing the RAM chips, or by installing an after market circuit board that already contains the RAM chips - this is a no solder option. The only drawback is that the top of the can surrounding the chips will no longer fit. This doesn't effect the computer in any way.
I went for the PCB with the RAM chip on it. You just remove the video chip, plug the board in, then re-insert the chip..

This extra RAM can be used by GEOS, Maverick, Super Snapshot v5 and many other programs. A great upgrade for most C-128 users.
