Confirmed, all the versions out there seem to require PAL. Maybe a physical disk of the NTSC version is needed to create the first NTSC .dsk file.
Same thing happens with a recently released version of Donkey Kong that closely resembles the arcade version. It plays perfectly well on my PAL C64 but part of the screen is missing when playing on an NTSC C64.
