Datasette power connector

Post by radron5809 »

Are these connectors a standard with a name or are the people selling them having them made special? I want to get a few to steal power from the datasette port but don't have a clue what these connectors are called.

The datasette and user port connectors used on the C64, VIC-20, C128 and some PET computers are pretty much standard 0.156" connectors very popular in industrial applications. Even the cartridge port connectors are industry standard.

Digikey sells hundreds of different connectors of these families of products.

Datasette: https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/e ... -ND/107605

User port: https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/e ... -ND/107611

VIC-20 Cart port: https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/e ... ND/1292244

C16 and Plus/4 Cart port: https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/e ... ND/1294126

These are from EDAC but there are other like Sullins and TE which make similar connectors with variations like no eyelets at the ends, thicker or thinner gold plating, angled connector pins, etc...

No prob!

I couldn't find C64 cart port connectors. These have 44 contacts with 2x22 arrangement and 0.1" spacing and I have a serious pile of them in stock.

The ones I have feature double the gold plating thickness of the original ones for greater longevity. Commodore did not expect their machines to be used 35 years after they were initially sold!

I sell them for 4$US each.

Do they make a piece that covers the connectors?
