28 pin DIP EEPROMs

Post by Gyro Gearloose »

Hey gang
Where do you get 16K X 8 or 32K X 8 EEPROMs in 28 pin DIP ?

I mean there's tons on eBay but it'll take months to get here. The parts on Digikey or Mouser are OK but at around 8-9$ each it starts to add up.

Just wondering.

Yes I have a stash of EEPROMs from PC motherboards but they ain't DIP.

I have a stock of them and I usually buy them on eBay and usually from China although some sellers in the USA also carry them if you don't mind paying more. The thing is with China source you have to find one that ships quickly and uses a speedier method. I have gotten EPROMs from China that took 7 days from the date I ordered it to when they were in my mailbox and I was amazed. Are you in the USA or Canada?

In that case if you don't mind China, I use jk_parts on eBay. I have had good success rate so far but of course, YMMV. ;)

Thanks, I'll look into it. I finally ordered a device programmer to handle old chips so as soon as I get it, I can try to read my Plus 4's BASIC and KERNAL.
