Ebay has a few more listed for around $40.00 USD. However, I think the RetroTink is going to steal the show. It's $100.00 USD brand new.
Nice little bit of work.......

Yeah but it's hard to beat 11$ with free shipping for the little eBay box.

But it does, I don't see the problem?

When I read that post, I backtracked your earlier posts to know where to find the wonderful 11$ eBay box which would allow me to connect a VIC-20/C64 to a TV with HDMI only inputs. Turns out there is more than one.

Could you help us mere mortals find this miraculous device ?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/RCA-to-HDMI-10 ... yfNOjcRg8Q

for the UK
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Composite-AV-C ... OSwailc8jS~

etc

they're out there, the pricing varies somewhat and listings keep changing.

Or you can go to the source

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3281526 ... b201603_52

I guess that works too. I've bought a few things from Aliexpress and it always shows up. (Estimated Delivery: 39-59 days) !!!

But these are composite input only. But for that price, are we gonna start analyzing the comb filter in there and argue if the 64's 16 colors are rendered correctly pixel by pixel? I won't... :D

Anyways I have some of these units on my desk now, I'll look at them someday soon. (The Gefen VGA to DVI unit is a bit strange, it can accept 15KHz RGB apparently, but my box is DOA. )

The boxed unit on the right takes s-video input, but you'll have to dig for spare change under the couch cushions, it was 28$ CDN free shipping, but that listing is no longer active. :?

But there's this
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Hot-3RCA-AV-CVB ... tRuGjqKBWg

edit: corrected aliexpress item with HDMI output (VGA out is cheaper)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3298160 ... 82e5b028ab

Well it is quite exhausting performing miracles, I have to go make lunch. :geek:

Why not use new stuff, rather than used, older technology?
ebay does list the Extron 1502, new, old stock but they're $80.00 shipped;

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Extron-IN1 ... 1037!US!-1

Why not go with a new scaler, with a company to stand behind it, like the RetroTink;

The Retrotink is a nice small unit too.

Um, we *are* in a forum where we use 35 year old computers, yes?

The links I posted are for new units.

"Why not go with a new scaler, with a company to stand behind it, like the RetroTink;"

Yet you bought an industrial scaler. Why are you pushing so hard for something that's 5 to 10 times the cost of simple Chinese units?

Because it works that much better. I have tried several of the more popular units, and found the RetroTink to have a much better display. Why settle for a mediocre display? The 'Tink may be a bit more expensive, but it doesn't break the bank.
Just because we use retro computers (or just old to be honest) we don't have to use old upgrades, do we? The Plankton is another a good example. ;)

"Because it works that much better. "

OK, I'll accept that, but I need to see it. I am pretty happy with my Viewsonic and the Inline unit. And for the budget-minded I think the many Chinese options are fine.

BTW the main IC in the Chinese scalers is 1$ US in quantity. So 140$ for a simple line-doubler like the RetroTink is too much for me.

But then again I bought a 2031 drive as a bookend, what do I know about budgets? :D
