I used to use Frodo quite a bit, but I think CCS64 won me over. Frodo is interesting because it supports oddball platforms such as BeOS, and I believe I used to run it on my BeBox back in the day.

Looks like it's at 4.1b. This is the same version I got back in 2000, so it hasn't been updated in a while. But it's still kicking!

Thanks for that link - I will have to try this out to see. This is one area in emulation that just doesn't seem to be quite right. I've tried the various options in other emulators to get the CRT look but none of it feels quite right (color bleed for one). It would be awesome if accuracy can be achieved some day.

I gave this a shot, and it absolutely has a boatload of tweaks available for the video. Not sure why this is, but there is also a second layer of settings available under "PAL Emulation".

As much as I played with it though, I just could not get the look I was aiming for. The colors are too dark, and although blurring the pixels is part of how a CRT looks (well - my TV anyway), it seems the colors blur vertically on a real TV, and in emulators they tend to blue horizontally.

Anyway - I may play some more with this one.

BTW, if anyone is adventurous and messes with the settings, and accidentally sets mode to FULL GPU, and locks up their computer , and you want to undo everything, if you are in windows you can find the persisted settings in %appdata%\micro64.

I never cared much for emulators, specially for Commodore machines. I never like Vice - I usually had the real hardware on hand, so I had no need for Vice. Recently I found an emulator I tried, and like very much, called Amikit, for emulating a high end Amiga on Windows. So far, this is the only emulator I use, but I really like this one.

I mostly use Linux under which:
My favourite Amiga emulator is FS-UAE
For the Commodore 8bit machines, Vice is pretty much King IMO, though I also use a few others on occasion for whatever reason. Like Java SID Player for it's great SID emulation and quick and easy SID playing.
STella for the Atari ST
QEMU for misc
VirtualBOX for PC stuff, like running Windows.
Basilisk II, Mini vMac and PearPC for Mac emulation. Mini vMac is cool on Android too.

Amigakit works great for setting up a full blown Amiga. It isn't an emulator in itself more like a configuration on steroids. It uses the various platform specific versions of UAE.
