Is this acceptable?

Post by HurkyGerky »

Hey all, new here

I followed Ray Carlsen's schematic for a C64 power supply saver, and after constructing it I moved on to test it. It worked and shut off power after it passed around 5.86 volts. I attached some readings from two different ocsilloscopes, and I am unsure if this is triggering fast enough to prevent any damage to the chips.

If anyone could help a newbie out, it would be much appreciated!

Hi HurkyGerky,

Just a note on the trigger voltage . I think the terminal voltage of a 74xxx chip is 5.2v.

I have mine set to go off at around 5.1v. This way even if the voltage ramps up too quickly there is a safety net.
